1. Acceptance of terms
Using the website bikerentflorence.it and booking the rental service implies full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. Service description
Bike Rent Florence offers bicycle rental (city bikes, e-bikes, mountain bikes, kids bikes) starting from Via Dell'Oriuolo 12, Florence, at Parking Duomo. The service includes:
- Bike rental with variable duration (1 hour, 2 hours, half day, full day)
- Helmet and lock included at no extra cost
- 14 recommended itineraries with Google Maps
- Digital contract with signature at pickup
- Customer area with rental timer and signed contract
3. Booking and payment
Bookings are made through the website. The following payment methods are accepted:
- Credit/debit card — via Stripe Inc. Rental payment is immediate. The deposit is pre-authorized (blocked but not charged).
- PayPal — rental payment and deposit are charged together. The deposit is refunded within 48 hours of returning the bike.
- Apple Pay / Google Pay — processed via Stripe.
The booking is confirmed upon receipt of the confirmation email with the booking reference code.
4. Cancellation and refunds
- Cancellation more than 48 hours in advance: full refund, net of payment processor fees (typically 1.4%–2.9% + fixed fee)
- Cancellation less than 48 hours in advance: no refund
- No-show: no refund
- Light rain or overcast: no refund — service is regularly available
- Severe weather (heavy rain, storm, snow, ice, official Yellow/Orange/Red alert by Florence Municipality or Tuscany Civil Protection): full refund or free rescheduling
- Force majeure: full refund or free rescheduling
5. Pickup and return
The bike must be picked up at Via Dell'Oriuolo 12, Florence, at the agreed time. Return must be made at the same location within the booked duration. Late returns are subject to an hourly surcharge as specified in the rental contract.
6. Customer responsibilities
- Valid ID required at pickup
- Comply with the Italian Highway Code
- Do not sublet or lend the bike to third parties
- Return the bike clean and undamaged
- Always use the provided lock
- Wear a helmet (mandatory for under 18)
- Report any theft within 24 hours with official police report
7. Limitation of liability
Bike Rent Florence is not liable for accidents, injuries, theft or damage to third parties or personal belongings during the rental. The customer uses the bike at their own risk and is responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle beyond normal wear.
8. Privacy and GDPR
Personal data is processed in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). See our Privacy Policy for full details.
9. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Florence.
